Mr. Eubanks,
I'm disappointed with your decision to close the unmaintained forest road commonly referred to as Fordyce Trail. While I'm fully aware of the need to prevent forest fires, recreational opportunities are an important purpose of our national forests. It's my understanding forest order 17-07-04 is the reason for this closure. However, I believe this road is mistakenly closed based on this forest order. Item number four in the forest order permits use of forest roads but prohibits use of forest trails. The Tahoe National Forest maps indicate/document Fordyce Trail as being an unmaintained forest road rather than a trail.
I ask that you reconsider your closure of this road.
