I guess I'm getting a little excited here, as the old XJ gets Mog axles and 42" IROK's. I've got the suspension pretty much done now except for modifing the rear top link to clear the driveline. The 7.56:1 gearing should help (even with the bigger tires). I'm looking forward to driving with open diff's in low range, until I hit the air switches for the diff locks. I've got about 6" up-travel in the suspension and properly built bump stops so "cruising" a trail should be a softer experience. Did I say larger tires... those things are HUGE! On hummer wheels with new centers I built and outer rim protection plates...they are heavy! And there a "....." to mount with that stupid O-ring that's two sizes too small. Some quick dimensions. New wheel base 112" Overall width 84", Overall height 84" or so. Weight: just slightly less than a T-300 Kenworth. I'll post picks soon. Should have it outside the shop this coming weekend. Still have a lot to do though. Next time I build something the center of gravity will be a couple feet lower.
