now Ralph, why you you want to gain all that stability and strength with Chevy parts... :PI thought you FJ boys were purists.

I'll help ya if I can. I know you want those leaf springs , which are simple, effective and proven, but I still think a coil front is where it's at. I think you need to get that rear-end out behind out behind you a little bit. It'll help on the inclines and put a little more weight on that super-steering D60 up front.
